In a Nutshell

Both William and Kathy have been reproducing these shaker items since 1997.  We use the same measured drawings of the original shaker pieces.  We cut our own wooden bands and then soak these in hot water to be able to bend them around molds we have made.  The actual box is then contructed using coper tacks to hold the swallow tail fingers together and then hard wood pegs to secure the tops and bottoms together.  No glue is used to hold the box together. We use hard woods such as cherry, oak, maple, and walnut to produce these treasured items and the finish on the box is a natural rubbed in Danish oil.
